Emyt laid in the grass near the cave with his rapier and a bag of meat, obviously asleep. He hummed often, turning his body around to get in a more comfortable position. The silver tipped rapier was under his side, strapped there with pieces of leather.
Apollo rode his horses well; dawn was coming sooner than usual. The Sun greeted Emyt with a blast of sunlight to the face. Groaning, the red-eyed boy mumbled and took a furry blanket and covered his head. Stupid sun always had to ruin a good sleep!
After a few minutes of just laying there, Emyt slowly sat up. Grumpily, but he sat up! The blanket was still stretched over his head, bringing also static to his white hair. He whipped it off, still grumbling.
"Now where's that stupid little boy...?" Emyt muttered, standing up and staggering backwards unexpectedly. Swinging his arms wildly backwards to keep himself from falling, he blinked his sensitive eyes again. "Why... Where'd he go?"
As he looked for the boy, Emyt tried to smooth out his terrible bedhead. His alabaster hair randomly poked out in strange places, and some strands just flat out refused to cooperate. It would smooth out once he started running.
"K-K-Ka-Kaden!" He called with a yawn.

Kaden was up in a tree, laying across a branch like a jungle cat. Hearing his name his eyes slowly opened. "Yes?" he asked in annoyance. Suddenly losing his balance and failing to regain it, he fell from it and landed on his butt. "Ow!" he complained.
Be thankful you landed on your butt and not- We don't need a male anatomy lesson, C'zrin. Thank you. He said, cutting her off.

Emyt yawned, then sluggishly walked over to Kaden. "You." He pointed. "You.... Do something productive." He said, at a loss for a job for the boy to do. The boy seemed to tired, and his stomach protested. He had not eaten with Kaden, and he was hungry. Sliding a strand of hair over his pointed ear, he looked curiously over at the cave. "I'm gunna see if anything made its way into our cave." He said, yawning.
Have a pleasant sleep?
Not really, I kept waking up due to the pain in my side. Emyt complained boyishly.

"Something productive?" Kaden mumbled. Why was Emyt always bugging him? Always bossing him around? It made no sense... yet he found that even with his protesting he didn't really mind. Why was that? He suddenly clenched his teeth and gripped at his heart. The connection was back. I wish you'd stop doing that C'zrin. A warning would be nice. A simple absent minded humming was the only reply he got. She wasn't going to apologize. Not this time.

Emyt groaned as he disappeared in the cave. He stumbled often, and at one point he collapsed. Deqasef sighed.
You really should stop pushing your limit, Emyt.
Ugh. What limit? I have no l-limit. The boy yawned again.
Oh really? Next time you bolt off in the middle of the night, trying to outrun C'zrin and Kaden, I won't hold you back. The dragon said angrily. Neither of them knew the connection had been made.
Yes you will. You like C'zrin. And I don't want to be near that boy. The dragon's fine, but he isn't. Emyt spoke angrily.
You're afraid he'll find out your secret? Is that it?! Good God, why don't you just tell him?
Pfft. In a thousand years. And with that, Emyt started to pick up random stuff from the ground, throwing them into a pile. No wonder Emyt had been ignoring Kaden lately.

Hearing what they said due to C'zrin's forced connection, Kaden grew curious. You may as well just say it. C'zrin just decided to shove us together again and I heard your conversation just now. What 'secret' might this be?
Best not to pry into the affairs of others Kaden. ...Besides, Deqasef and I have nothing between us. You have nothing to worry about with our influence except for being bound together by promises and dragon fire.
Kaden snorted and leaned against the trunk of the tree he had fallen out of when waking up. He absent-mindedly pulled a leaf from it and put it in his mouth. He chewed it without a care knowing full well it wouldn't taste very good. At times he wondered why he did it then he remembered the oh so simple answer. Boredom.
Riiight C'zrin. Like I'm concerned at all about accidentally kissing Emyt because you and Deqasef had to have your moment. It'd been a remark meant to insult C'zrin but it seemed like more to those who already knew said 'secret' mentioned before.

Emyt gasped out loud, looking surprised.
You guys listened to our whole conversation? And Kaden wants to know what secret I have from him? NO. Emyt's voice flared with anger. In the cave, Emyt was shaking. How did he forget about C'zrin's connection?!
Kaden, C'zrin, I'm sorry you guys had to hear all that. Emyt's really in a foul mood. He hasn't eaten nor slept in two full days. And he refuses to do both. The dragon apologized.
Taking some bags from the thrown pile, he tugged them over his shoulder and took the sword. Passing Kaden, the white haired boy headed towards the woods. He completely refused to talk with any of them.
Uhh... Where are we going, Emyt? No reply. The dragon spoke to C'zrin. Don't break the connection. Something might go wrong that I won't be able to help with. Its worse since he's going into the woods and I don't know where he's headed.
I'm just gunna walk around. Its nothing bad. Emyt said irritably, then shut up.

It isn't a problem Deqasef... But I can't help but think of why. It isn't as if we've been starving ourselves the past few days. What's keeping him from it?
C'zrin growled, warning Kaden not to pry. Bother him later. He can still hear us as we can hear him. If it is truly a secret it's not meant for your ears.

The boy said nothing. Instead, he started to run. Fast. He felt himself losing speed. He was growing weak, despite the red dragon's powers and his own. Soon enough, the boy slowed to a stop and looked at the large meadow, free of trees.
Where are we, Emyt? The dragon asked as he sent C'zrin a mental image of the area. It was mostly meant for security, but this was a very beautiful area.
I have no idea. I just ran. Emyt admitted, taking out the sword and walking through the tall grass. The meadow made everything slow down, and gave the boy a very peaceful memory. Looking over at a fallen, dead tree, Emyt slowly made his way there. He sat down, looking at the never-ending grass.
It was a Monday. The meadow was full of over-grown hay. Scythes slashed through the air as men cut the grass for their livestock. Besides an older man, stood a small, brown haired boy. He had expressive hazel eyes, and pale skin.
"Daddy, why can't I help you cut the hay?" He asked. The boy was no more than nine. The black haired man smiled, standing upright and wiping sweat away from his brow.
"If you think you can pick the scythe up and cut, you're quite welcome to." His father said, letting the boy grab the huge object. The boy nearly toppled over.
"See, Emyt? You're to small right now. Wait a few years." Emyt's father gently took the scythe and continued on cutting the hay. The boy whined. "But I want to help you!" He said.
"You can. Take the hay back into the storage shed for it to dry up. You can do that." Emyt agreed excitedly and took a handful of hay. He started off towards the huge shed.
Then horror struck.
As he had finished placing the hay into the shed, Emyt had turned to run back towards his father. However, nobody was there. Confused, the brown haired boy jogged over to where his father would've been.
"Daddy?" He called, walking around the tall grass. His foot struck something hard, and he fell forwards. How odd. The ground in the fields was always soft and free of rocks. What had he tripped on? He turned to look.
"Dad!" The nine-year old screamed. The scythe he had once grabbed was sticking out of the man's warm chest, and blood poured over a cut in his neck and chest. Emyt's eyes widened. What had happened?!
Staggering back, he started running towards the house, where his mom was. "Mommy! Mom!" He screamed at the top of his lungs once her got there. The door swung open, and the brown haired boy froze to the spot. His mother was too, dead. A bulky demon stood over her, holding a red sword. Red eyes sought the boy.
Within a second, the boy was pinned to the wall by the demon. The creature grinned, showing a sharp array of teeth. "How are you, my little son?" He asked gruffly, with the grin still on his face.
This was his real father.
Emyt was told already that his father had not been his real father, but the elven mother of his only told the brown haired boy that his real father had left when he was only a newborn. Not before putting a tattoo on the baby's shoulder. But this beast could not be his father!
"You're not my dad.." He whispered. "You killed my mo--" He was cut off when the demon started to choke him. Emyt never felt so scared before in his life.
"I sired you, and your elven mother dared not to tell you of your lineage?! Ha!" The laugh was menacing. "You are my son, and you know it. Your hair is not really brown, and your eyes are red." As he said this, the boy's eye color changed. His hair slowly turned lighter until it was the color of untouched snow.
"Your body is still forming, but you will see that you will be faster and stronger than the others. And more blood thirsty. You will detest the scent of cooked meat, and will only eat the remains with blood. Emyt... The elven tiefling." He laughed with a menacing voice before slamming him into another wall and disappearing. The boy was whimpering and crying in a corner when some guards from the village found him.... Holding a bloody knife and cradling his dead mother.
Emyt shuddered at the memory, and his dragon spirit had seen the whole thing. The connection allowed C'zrin and Kaden to see it also. The white haired boy looked over at the meadow again, before he started to cry.

Knowing where he was due to the connection, Kaden silently followed in Emyt's footsteps until he was beside the boy. He placed a soft hand on Emyt's shoulder. "It's okay..." He hoped those two words could do as much for Emyt as they had for him. Back when the world had been safe and people had been alive without fear, Kaden had been a careless youngster. He'd broken just about everything that could have been. Yet his mother would always put her hand on him and say it was alright and suddenly the horror of being in trouble was lifted.

Emyt looked up at Kaden and ceased his crying immediately. He scowled, standing up and pushing him away. "What are you doing here?" The boy asked, his red eyes locked onto the boy. "Didn't I tell you to leave me alone?" Emyt asked, his eyes glowing slightly. His fist tightened on the ruby blade.
I suggest Kaden leaves Emyt alone. And Emyt, drop the sword. Deqasef said gently. Surprisingly enough, Emyt let the sword slip from his hand and onto the ground.

Kaden seemed hurt, eyes holding a look of sorrow for a moment or two. Then the boy composed himself and huffed. "Fine, bawl your eyes out then. See if I give a damn." It was then that he spun and left to go lean against the tree he'd slept in once more.
That wasn't nice, Kaden. C'zrin scolded.
Bite me.

Emyt didn't feel quite so good now. The boy looked over at Kaden, and he angrily kicked at a tree. The tree almost nearly got chopped in half. "Why does everything bad happen to me?!" he asked out loud. Emyt's red eyes glowed angrily, and the tiefling started to pace around.
Uh.. Emyt? Calm down. Emyt? There came only a reply of Emyt kicking the ruby sword away. Err, Emyt? I don't think you should be kicking the sword... Emyt growled, closing his eyes and pulling his white hair back to show his elven ears.
Swearing and mumbling under his breath, the boy looked back at Kaden. "Jerk." He called back, sitting on the tree sump and grabbing up the sword.
Now, do we have to be so vile to each other?
Yes.

Reasoning with either of them is failing. Let them blow off their steam. C'zrin sighed. She really disliked all the anger going around between the group.
"I'm the jerk?" Kaden snapped back. "What about you? You didn't even give a crabs of doom that I bothered to make an attempt to comfort you. Again, see if I care. That's the last time I-"
Hush. Yelling does no good.

"After what you saw, why would you comfort me? Me, of all people? For all you know, I can be a bloodthirsty animal that's avoiding you because I want to grrrrr....ing kill you!" He yelled back, gripping the sword until his knuckles turned white.
"Do you think I need your sympathy? I've heard it for six years! I'm sick of people being sorry for me!" He yelled, turning his back sharply and striding deeper into the woods, flinging the ruby sword with amazing force towards a tree.
Emyt! No, Emyt! Get the sword; I can't communicate with you if its not near you! The dragon's voice dimmed away as Emyt sprinted away.
