Kaden blinked. Nobody had really ever cared enough to ask. Still since he had joined with C'zrin he had felt his hunger insatiably strong. He shyly nodded. "Yeah, I have to say I am." Inwardly he cursed himself for being so stupid. If he'd only thought to bring along food maybe he wouldn't be so dependent on others. Still did it really hurt to answer such a simple question.

Emyt nodded, then took his bow and arrow, along with a carving knife. A bag was tossed to Kaden. "Hold that and follow me." He said, starting off towards a forest. His pace was brisk. He walked silently, looking for any sort of motion of a bird, a deer, a rabbit. Anything.
"Keep quiet." He said as they suddenly approached a young buck. He was alert, his brown eyes wide as he grazed. Emyt took out an arrow and nocked it into place.
Silence greeted the two males, and the buck started to walk away. Emyt smiled, pulling the bowstring back and letting the arrow fly. It hit its mark, letting the buck pitch forward and fall, twitching.

Kaden was used to this sort of thing. He had managed to stay silent following behind Emyt the entire time. He watched the buck fall and couldn't help but smile. He has stunning accuracy. There was a musical humming of agreement from C'zrin. Indeed. He's well suited for his dragon. They fit together as a whole. Do we? I think so. Should anything else matter? Silence was Kaden's reply. He couldn't help but agree.

Unable to hear the two speak with each other, Emyt walked over to the deer and bent down, drawing out the knife and carefully cutting out a considerable amount of meat. He glanced around, then called Kaden over. "Bag, please." He said, turning back to the deer. The fur would bring a lot of money in the market. But of course, he did not skin the poor creature. It wouldn't do him any good except making useless clothes.
I'm hungry.
Oh shut up.

He opened the bag dutifully and held it out for Emyt. "Here." he said simply. Why are you so shy? He's just a person you know. It's awkward to speak to somebody after a while. I've been alone since my village was ruined. I've not spoken much even to you. It's just awkward.

Emyt took it and thanked him silently, placing the bloody meat in the leather bag until it was stuffed. He then closed it, turning and trotting back to the open area. "Go gather some branches that have fallen for a fire." He told Kaden.
Arent you bossing him around a little too much? The dragon asked Emyt.
He wants to eat, right? He wants to stay with me, right? If he stays, he works. I will not have a child with me that does nothing but eat precious food and tries to fight. He works, and that's final. Emyt replied sharply.
Fine, fine. Just don't work him TOO much, ya know?

He sighed and went to do as told, slightly annoyed. Kaden hadn't wanted to be ordered around. Then again his own logic was much the same as Emyt's. Food had to be earned and that was final. Suddenly Kaden's head started to spin as his eyesight adjusted. C'zrin had decided to help him by lending the boy her vision. This was a lot more useful. It took less time to find the sticks than it would have been if he'd had to find them on his own. Suddenly he understood something. C'zrin had never been a dragoness of strength or speed. Instead her talents had always been with the arcane. You helped forge the spell that the dragons used to form the blades. You helped them and yourself be sealed. Don't pry in my memories, boy. It isn't kind... but yes.

Emyt took out the meat slabs, then reached down to his waist, taking out a little bit of seasoning he had kept. He gently sprinkled it on, waiting for the boy to come back with the branches.
When he did, the man took it and built a mound of logs, humming.
Say, if you're a fire dragon, can you light up the branches and NOT burn the meat? Yup. You can grab the meat from the fire with your bare hands once they're done. Emyt was surprised, but then felt a wave of heat travel from his stomach and through his esophagus. He seemed to be choking, but suddenly a burst of fire came from his mouth, setting the twigs on fire. He stumbled, almost falling into the fire himself from shock! The meat that he had put on top of the twigs was cooking fast. Emyt sighed, watching as the sides slowly turned to black. They were done. Trusting that Deqasef had told him the truth, he placed his hand into the fire. Instead of feeling his fingers burning and his hand setting on fire, Emyt felt only a warm, calming sensation. He grabbed the done meat, placing it on one of the leather bags and pushing it towards Kaden. "Here." He muttered, taking his own and wrapping it up. He wasn't going to eat. Instead, he took a great intrest in watching the boy eat the well-made deer. ((FAIL ))

Kaden took it carefully and yelped as he touched it. His fingers turned red and blistery. He winced and bit down hard on his lip to avoid crying out from the burn. His eyes were tearing up but all he could do was sit there and wait for the initial shock of it to pass. "Darn..." he mumbled as best as he could between his clenched teeth. Blood ran down his chin as his lip responded from the pressure of his teeth with a small cut.

Emyt raised a brow. "It's hot, but the way." He smirked. Leaning back on his elbows, the white haired boy stared intently at the cackling flames. "When you're done eating, get up and take your sword out." He said, standing up himself and withdrawing the ruby blade. His red eyes narrowed as he ran a hand on the blade, feeling its strength course through his own body.
Be easy on the boy, Emyt. The dragon warned.
Fine, fine. But if he's better than I think, then I'll go full force. And please let me do my own moves, not yours.
Fine, fine. He gave in.

"Gee thanks for telling me now..." He managed to mumble when the pain subsided. Kaden wiped the blood off his face with the back of his hand and then blew on the meat a little. He managed to bite off tentative bites until it was cool enough to actually eat regularly. "You could have told me sooner you know..."

"You saw me take them out, stupid." Emyt replied, raising a brow. "Duh." Twirling the ruby blade lazily, he yawned. "I'm bored." He said abruptly.
If you're bored, go do something.
Make me.

"Hmph... Well I have a dragon-spirit too. Forgive me for thinking C'zrin could stand a little flame as well as your dragon could." Kaden replied with a huff. He stood after completing his meal and flexed his burned hand. It would sting but he could handle the pain. He drew the thin black diamond blade and smiled. "How about we have our match?"

Emyt grinned when Kaden took out the blade. Raising his own just slightly, he turned violently and swung the blade at Kaden's feet. His red eyes were brightly coloured, and he grinned. "Come one, lets see you parry and attack." He said gruffly, taking the longsword and lifting it back up. "Attack me." He said, still grinning.
Remember to go easy on him, Emyt.
Yea yea. Whatever.

Lightning fast, Kaden spun. It was meant to be a slash but if it was blocked a simple flick of the wrist would make it a parry as well. "Deal then... First to draw blood wins? Or are we going to stop when one has the other in a possible death position?"
Be careful. You don't know him. He could be stronger. Never underestimate an attacker. C'zrin warned.
