One pup was a runt, easily told by the smaller size even for a Howlinka. However she was a healthy baby and her bright purple eyes held an intelligence far beyond what seemed her capacity for such a young age. Her light brown fur had a speckling of purple and blue in it and the beginnings of a mane spiked up down her back. Judging by the outline of the Howlinka who he assumed was the father behind them (since he was a little larger and more stand-offish) it would end up being rather long in the end and perhaps the same colour. Even these pups were Howlinka with daemons bonded to them from birth. True Borns.
Hokuze smiled and bowed his head slightly in respect for the family. He had no idea there were still such things in existance. Perhaps there was more hope for the Howlinka species (or was it more proper to say race?) after all. His wings folded around him carefully. He had to make a conscious effort to keep from collapsing in front of them. It would not look very good if he did.
Finally from the shadows came the male Howlinka, the father of the two pups. He was a different colour scheme than Hokuze but his Daemon was obviously either Earth or Air in type. Light brown with a tan muzzle and forepaws, Deirin wasn't so much an oddly coloured wolf. It was his golden wings, blue markings (two under his left eye as well as a swirl on his cheek as well as two blue markings of the same kind as below his eye being on his forelegs), and blue tail tip that made him odd. Still his aqua gaze was friendly. He had no intention of harming the travelers.
"Ah Princess Merkblood. Welcome!" the brown Howlinka said with a grin. His teeth weren't as typically sharp as some daemon wolves had but still formidable and familiar to any other Howlinka in shape and style.
(True Borns are the result of two Howlinkas breeding. While the pups themselves do not inherit a daemon from their parents, their strong- or rather pure- bloodline often makes it easier for them in the end and at a very young age they find themselves with a daemon partner. Even if not fully with the ability to assume a Howlinka form -you know the claws, wings, etc.?- they are still revered and respected since one day they will have said ability. It is also possible for pups to gain the offspring of the daemons bonded to their parents if the daemons ever had children through their past lives in between possessing a wolf body.)

(right ^^)
The female nodded to them but said nothing. Though she of couse knew Princess Merkblood, she wasnt the sort to trust strangers, especially when her chicldren where around. The larger of the twp pups, a dark blue one with his mothers scaling and his fathers tan muzzle started to step tewrads them, interested in looking at these strange new Howlinkas. He had seen very few of his onw species so for and was a very curious little creature.

Deirin pushed the pup gently back with a paw, keeping him a decent distance from Princess Merkblood. He bowed his head slightly to show respect. The gesture sent his low hanging green mane into a ripple. Somehow this one Howlinka managed to hold the perfect balance of the elements around him even if he really did only have a daemon of one kind. It was no wonder his mate had chosen him.
"You sure get a lot of recognition, don't you?" Hokuze chuckled to Merkblood.

"Well I am the princess" Merkblood replied loftily. Sky hadent said a word and just hung round behind them, watching the Howlinka family. It still seemed so odd to think of herself as a Howlinka. Howlinka where the enemy, evil horrible creatures. Or at least, thats what she had been taught, but these two where her frineds, and how could a monster raise a family. And how in the name of the moon could she now be a Howlinka too? Nothing made sense anymore.

"Well Princess you are always welcome here... Who are your friends?" Deirin questioned.
Hokuze decided to answer for himself. "Hokuze, grey wolf." His voice darkened for a moment in nature as the second addition came. "As well as J'guntir, upper class daemon of wind. I trust you will not harm my host. I need him."

Merkblood glanced at Sky, asking with a look whether or not Sky wanted her to speak for her. But plucking up her courage, Sky told them "My name is Sky. At the moment my demon is weakened and ,sort of asleep, sorry" She ended sheepishly.

Deirin smiled and again bowed his head to acknowledge Sky. "Pleased to meet you, Sky. I am Deirin. My daemon is Tayzin of the wind element." He looked to his mate with a soft expression. "Shall I introduce you, love?"

She shook her head, sending her mane waving. Standing straighter and staring Hokuze straight in the eye, as though challanging him to protest, "I am Artheria and my demon is Terkitera, Highest class Earth demon." She said it with pride that conflicted with her earlyer shyness. As all knew here but sky (and even she had a vague feeling about it) It was very very unusual for a Wind and Earth to breed succesfully as they often dident get on very well, and even when they did mange to get one, love was extremly rare and healthy pups even rarer.

Hokuze took a quick glance to their pups. He knew that the chances of them surviving was rare... yet still they were healthy. He couldn't help but smile. "Pleased to meet you as well, Artheria. Congratulations on your litter. They look beautiful."
Always the proud father, Deirin couldn't help but flash a smile. "They can be a handful but I wouldn't trade my family for the world." He glanced to the sky where storm clouds were gathering. "It seems it will be raining soon. Allow me to offer hospitality to you, Princess Merkblood."

Artheria also smiled and looked at the pups. "They are doing very well, arnt they?" Then a flicker of saddness came over her face "This is our secound litter, the last three dident survive. But these two are doing far better then the others ever did, they are survivers!" Luckely the pups seemed to inent on getting away form their mother and over to teh strangers to pay any attention to her words.

Nodding, Hokuze frowned. "An Earth and Wind breeding is rare to say the least. Still your pups look healthy. They are indeed survivors. I'm sure they will grow up to become very strong individuals." He too glanced at the sky as it was clouding over.
Deirin herded his pups closer to himself and turned to re-enter the cave. "Come along you two. Enough roughhousing!" he chuckled lightheartedly while correcting his children. He looked back at his mate. "I'll make sure these two are put to bed. It's beginning to get late-ish and I doubt that rain will make it possible for them to go outside anyway. Mind making sure our guests are properly settled?"

Trying to scrabble away from his father and having to go to bed, "He said to the starngers proudly "Yes, im going to be really big and strong! Look, if already got wings!" Happily he flapped the two tiny wings, a simular colour to his body. they where feathery and about the size of a pidgeons wings. Despite that, the fact he ha dthem at all signalled that a demon might be starting to sture deep beneath his mind. If so the wings would grow as he did untill they where big enough to support him.

"Yes, yes. You and your sister both will be strong but even a strong Howlinka needs rest!" Deirin said gently. He picked up his son by the scruff and carried him away into the cave. It seemed his sister- the other pup- had already obediently gone from sight.
(Couldn't post much since Hokuze has nothing to say and Artheria did not reply to Deirin)

(oops)
Artheria nodded at her mate as he took their cubd off to bed. The male pup wriggled unhappily in his fathers jaws, trying to get the skin of his neck loose from his fathers careful grip. He wanted to go back and tell the strangers more about himself. He dident want to go to bed, he hated bed times!

(Not a problem it just means we had to post extra)
Hokuze could not help but chuckle. For a pup, Artheria and Deirin's son sure was a riled up little ball of fur and feathers. Then again he could not also help the smile that grew on his muzzle. He had been much the same way in his own younger years. Even though Howlinka were thought of as beasts it was absolutely true that they were the same as a wolf in the fact that they had history and personality all of their own. Amusing how 'monsters' really were not what they were perceived to be.
