PLOT LINE (Please read)
Hundreds of years ago, wolves used to be part of the line of daemon lineage. They were essentially daemons themselves with wings, extra tails, extra eyes, claws, horns, and various other traits. All were unique to themselves having no two Howlinka, as they were often dubbed by those who feared them, being the same. The name was not so degrading as broken up "Howl" came from wolf and "inka" was a reference to the demonic blood pumping through their veins.
As with every great creature, their times came and went. Howlinka were murdered because many sought out greater power and demanded sacrifice. The race became corrupt and dangerous. They had no specific elemental powers but all knew a specified ability. In their strange tongue which was a guttural mix between growling (being the natural sounds of a wolf) and the harsh language naturally coming to the daemon species the ability translated to "Shadows song". This was why they were feared.
Slitted pupils, larger bodies than ever, they became beings of rage. Their eyes would glow a colour opposite of their often abnormally coloured and marked coats. Red wolves would show their long teeth and strike fear with ice blue eyes, choking those in their way to an early death with shadows that no being besides a Howlinka could survive. The cold literally seeped into the soul... but having a two part joined wolf/daemon soul they were immune to most things but not all.
Ages passed as the other animals and races of the land forgot all about the raging daemons that once ruled the land by sheer force and will and whim. But they were fools for dropping guard. It always happens in the eternal circle of life... creatures come and go then recycle. Emerging now are the new generation of Howlinka... Will the world quiver in fear once more? Rules: - Normal RP rules apply. Godmode, powerplay, etc. and you will be asked to leave. I do not want to see a good story line be ruined by disagreements so please keep all insults to a complete minimum. - Arguments in character are to be conducted as such. Cursing, bloodshed, etc. are completely allowed. The only barred trait here is death. You absolutely can NOT kill another person's character. Howlinka are immune to the Shadows Song ability as well as most weaponry. The only things that can kill them are direct sunlight and a fight to the death with other Howlinka by fang, claw, etc. - In order to join you MUST post an image of your Howlinka. Other characters do not need one. - I will allow three daemon wolves besides my own. The rest of the characters must be absolutely regular humans or wolves or something else. No magical creatures besides the Howlinka. - "Enraged" forms are as described above, but you can also be creative. Give them longer teeth, new markings on the fur, etc. Wings are only permitted in this form if they already have them in normal form. The wings would get larger as the wolf gets larger. - Though generally solitary, Howlinka used to form together into packs due to their common need for power and destruction as well as bloodlust. This is where our Howlinka will come together. Note: The wolves can speak to their daemon souls even though their energy is completely combined into one. There is no divider or limitation between daemon and wolf. Use italics for this as if it were normal thoughts to just themselves. Thank you and enjoy the RP. ^^

Sky ran for her life, ler long tounge lolling out of her mouth as she gasped for breath. She leapt over a boulder in her path and scrambled over fallen logs. She was a normal looking wolf in every way but her coat colour. She was not gray like the rest of her family but a more bluish colour with sky blue eyes. When others saw her they got the feeliong she was something to be feared. They had forgotten the Howlinka but not the instinctive fear that effected thsoe that met them. She was not one of them though, just a wolf who happened to have a Howlinka ancester far, far back in her line. She was a bit of a throwback but had no special powers and no odd markings on her fur or anything but its colour to distinguish her from other, normal wolves. And now she saw sure it was one of them hunting her, hell bent on getting rid of what they saw as a 'fake' and worthless creature.

Before any normal wolf could get to her, however, a larger wolf landed from the sky in front of her. His eyes were a bright burning red with some orange mixed in. Teeth stuck out from his lips in sharp points in a manner that made Hokuze look almost primal. His back supported two large grey wings which were darker that his fur color. Each feather ended in the same light blue as the spikes on the top his his head and part of the way down his neck. A kanji design of 'wolf' on his leg and a howling wolf head on his flank along with little mottled flecks of blue caught the eye...but didn't hold attention so much as the claws sticking almost in a feline manner from his paws. "Where are you running off to?" he asked her in a gruff tone. Unlike Sky this was a true Howlinka. His eyes narrowed causing the blue mark across his left eye to flash with movement in an almost abnormal way. Not normal... Clearly not. (Hokuze... sorry for the cruddy colour job on the wings. i kind of filled them in really quickly so you could see what they were coloured... i'll fix it/finish them when I can)

(I loves the pic!)
Sky could have fainted. There in front of her was one of the Howlinka. Her worst night mere come true! He could have been scaryer prehaps but the combination od weird markings, especially sharp claws and teeth and wings stopped her in her tracks. The young wolf, already worn out from all the running stood there, terrified, her whole body shaking but said nothing. She was too wornout and scared to utter a sound.

(thanks xD I should finish it. Poor guy is only half-shaded and half coloured! ) Hokuze seemed almost amused by her fear. He would have bared his teeth to frighten her more if he actually meant harm. He'd hoped she was a Howlinka too, but obviously she wasn't...or at least not pure-bred. "I mean you no harm, rest assured young wolf. If giving my name will calm you some, it's Hokuze."

She had no idea why being given his name should be a reasurense but she managed to gasp "Ah, Im Sky." as a reply. She was starting to calm down just a little, though she was still very tense and ready to run at the slightest sighn of being attcaked. She was slowly manageing to get her breath back as well.

He nodded respectfully then lifted his head to the sky and let out a long haunting howl. His ears twitched slightly for a few moments afterward and then he smiled. "They will not pursue you any further, Sky. A Howlinka's cry is more than enough to chase off those filthy dogs who call themselves wolf. ...I apologize if my behavior seems sudden and sort of rash but it is how I am. I'm very impulsive at times but also very protective."

She jumped and almost ran at the sound of his Howl. No one could mistake it for a normal wolfs howl, it spoke too much of raw power. And of lonelyness. She did not knwo wether or not to be offended by him calling the wolves chasing her filfy dogs, becouse even though they thought of her as an outsider she thought of herself as one of them. It had been alright untill her family had been forced to join up with another pack becouse of teh harshness of last winter. That had been were all the trouble started. On the other hand, being offended by a Howlinka was by far one of the least harmfull things they could do to you. She wondered though why he was apoligisiing to her and being...protective? Of her as well. She was just a weak, patheticic oddball of a wolf, and he was a Howlinka...

"We share some blood, you and I, you know. You are part Howlinka, I can see this... But you don't have a demon. I don't sense that darkest energy within you. You are a lucky wolf Sky. You know not of the corruption a demon-bonded soul can bring. You still have freedom," he said after a few moments of silence, "I envy that." He started to turn his back to walk away but paused. Hokuze obviously didn't want to leave. "You want to know something?" he asked her without looking over his shoulder. "You're the only one who hasn't run from me in a long time... I like that. Too many are scared."

Sky dident know what to say as a repliy to any of what the Howlinka had told her. So even though she was an outcast she was lucky becouse she wasnt bonded to a demon? She had heard storys of this bonding though most said they were just daemons through and through with no wolf soul at all. She dident want him to leave either. Even though they had just met, and that he was a howlinka for howling out loud! She still felt as though she could trust him in a way she had neevr been able to trust other normal wolves outside her own family.

He sighed as if sort of dejected then looked up to the sky for a moment or two. "Wonder how normal wolves see the world? I've never had the opportunity to be normal... How is it for you Sky?" Don't. She's only a very small bit Howlinka. She's part mutt. You can't trust her. The demon growled to Hokuze. He ignored the angry voice. Despite what the other half of his judgement said, he felt Sky COULD be trusted.

She found her self stepping nearer to him without meaning to. She too looked up at the sky. It was night and the stars were out. A half moon shone down on them and there wasnt a cloud in sight. "It looks dark and empty but the stars twinkle down distently. They feeel so far away but at the same time as though I could reach up and touch them. The moon seems lonely. And watchfull." She felt a bit embaressed about saying all that and wondered how differnetly he saw the world to her.

"Ah... to me the stars are the only source of eternity. They shine day in and day out even if you cannot see them at times as the world continues to shrink down... until one day the burden of the day crushes you." He said in an almost sad voice. "That crushing feeling, it's truely horrid. You can't escape it."

She stars shone all the time? She had never thought about that possability? How could they? She couldent see them... And what did he mean about the burden of the day? ABout it crushing you? Oh he sounded so sad. She wished there was something she could do...

He sensed her confusion and offered a chuckle to lighten the mood a bit. "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to make it so ominous. You see your opinions tend to darken a little over time when nobody wants to really be around you and you have a demon for company. ...Well a demon's voice in your head for company but that makes a wolf sound a bit schizophrenic so I digress."
